Divorce - funding
A divorce commences by lodging at Court a Divorce Petition, and Statement of Arrangements for children (if applicable) and a Court fee (unless you are financially eligible for an exemption).
In terms of costs solicitors' fees vary. Some will agree to set a fixed fee. Whereas some will charge an hourly rate. An average time estimate is 3-4 hours.

You will only get Legal Aid for divorce now if you are a victim of domestic abuse.

Deciding whether or not to divorce is an extremely difficult decision to make.

There are lots of issues you will consider:

(a) What are the arrangements for the children going to be?
(b) Is there any agreement in respect of child maintenance?
(c) What will happen to the finances/matrimonial home?
