"I just thought "sod it! I need to get out of the house and I need male company." It was fun. The drive enabled me to reflect on a lot of things."
When we find ourselves in a strange place we forget to take time out for us.
Ask yourself right now "when was the last time I did something spontaneous?" I can remember once sitting minding my own business chatting to a male friend when he started to describe what he was making for dinner. In a moment of pure madness I suggested that I should come to dinner – his house was a two hour drive away.
I just thought "sod it! I need to get out of the house and I need male company." It was fun. The drive enabled me to reflect on a lot of things. I had a delicious dinner and a great evening.
Today for example I decided to paint a picture. A friend threw done the gauntlet and said paint me. Well I didn’t paint her but I made a picture for her. Just like that I decide to stop my normal day-to-day stuff and do something fun.
Maybe you are not sure how to "make" yourself stop and do something different? So here’s what I am inviting you to do.
Make a list of 20 or more things that you would like to do, no matter how small or big, that you could just stop and do.
Places like Vistaprint ( and other online printing outlets often make offers of free postcards.  Get yourself 100 free postcards printed with something funky on the front.
Write your 20 things on them, stamp them up, give them to a friend and ask them to send you one every once in a while.
You can write anything on your postcard and when it turns up do whatever the postcard has asked you to do.  E.g., make something you have never eaten before like raw chocolates, or go for a walk somewhere new, head to the local museum.

Good luck with your postcard adventures.
Being grateful to your more
Yes, you did read that correctly: being grateful. OK you may not think that you could but one of the stages of getting over anything in life is looking at what you can learn from it.
Fake it until you make more
Sometimes life gets in the way of what we want. Sometimes we are so focused on getting somewhere we forget who we really are and what we are passionate about.
